We are excited to announce the much-anticipated launch of our new Dynamics and Control Instruction Lab, a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide hands-on learning opportunities in one of the most essential areas of engineering. This marks a historic moment for our department, as we bring back this vital resource after many years.

Multiple Quanser Control Plants Arrive at the PACK Lab

Multiple Quanser control plants arrive at the PACK Lab. The package include QUBE-Servo 3, Aero 2, and QBot Platform. These plants will be used for teaching and research in the area of dynamics, control, and robotics.
NASA Lunabotics 2024 Competition

SharkSat Team Won a Launch Opportunity Through NASA’s CSLI

I am excited to share that our cube satellite team has won a launch opportunity through NASA’s CubeSat Launch Initiative (CSLI)! We will build our first cube satellite, SharkSat-1, to monitor LED-induced blue light pollution across Earth. Great work, SharkSat Team!

The PACK Lab’s new paper, “Addressing Urban Traffic Congestion: A Hybrid DQN-Autoencoder Model with HyperOPT Tuning”, by Anurag Balakrishnan, Satyam Pathak, Pedro Herrera, and Tairan Liu, has been accepted by the International Conference on Transportation and Development (ICTD 2024). The team will present the paper in Atlanta, June 2024.

NASA Lunabotics 2023 Competition

Long Beach Lunabotics Team was placed 14th out of 50 teams overall and second for presentation in NASA Lunabotics 2023 Competitions. For the latter placement, the team was rewarded $2,000 to aid them in the 2023-2024 competition.
